Land Acknowledgement
Shelterly respectfully acknowledges that we operate throughout the Greater Toronto Area, which is home to many diverse Nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. This land is governed by various treaties, such as Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Williams Treaties, and continues to be the territory of many Indigenous communities. We honor the enduring presence, relationships, and stewardship of all First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, and reaffirm our commitment to respectful partnerships and meaningful reconciliation.
Why do we acknowledge
Shelterly acknowledges the land in Canada as a meaningful expression of respect for the Indigenous peoples who have cared for and stewarded this land for generations. By recognizing the traditional territories and honoring the histories and cultures of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, we demonstrate our commitment to reconciliation and our understanding of the deep-rooted connection between people and the land. This acknowledgment not only reflects our respect for Indigenous heritage but also reinforces our commitment to inclusivity, cultural awareness, and building stronger, more respectful communities.
