☀️ Summer’s Finally Here in Toronto!

The city is buzzing with sunshine, street festivals, and lake breezes—reminding us why we love Ontario’s vibrant summer season. As temperatures rise, now’s the perfect time to keep your rental in top shape and enjoy a comfortable, worry-free month ahead.

General Summer Tips:

  • Stay Cool: Use ceiling fans wisely and open windows in the early morning/evening to circulate fresh air.

  • Protect Against Pests: Keep windows screened and promptly seal any gaps to keep bugs and rodents at bay.

  • Mind the Humidity: Run a dehumidifier or use moisture-absorbing products in basements and bathrooms to prevent mold.

  • Energy Savings: Close blinds or curtains during peak sun hours to reduce cooling costs.

  • Outdoor Safety: Check that balcony railings and exterior lighting are secure before hosting or relaxing outside.

  • Stay Informed: Bookmark local city alerts for heat advisories, storm warnings, and community events.

Pre-Summer Prep:

  • 🧹 Clean & Clear Gutters

A fresh filter improves air quality and efficiency—replace at least once this month

  • 🚨 Test Smoke & CO Detectors

Summer storms can cause power surges—swap batteries and confirm all alarms are operational.

  • 🏡 Check Balcony/Patio Surfaces

Sweep debris, inspect for loose boards or cracked tiles, and ensure drainage holes are clear.

  • 🔒 Seal Gaps Around Doors & Windows

Keep cool air in (and pests out) by checking weatherstripping and caulking any visible cracks.

  • 💦 Water Plants & Adjust Lawn Sprinklers

Keep greenery healthy while conserving water—test sprinkler heads for proper coverage and repair leaks..
