Okura Hotel lobby in Tokyo
Known as one of Japan’s most iconic interiors, the lobby of the Hotel Okura Tokyo blends mid-century modern design with traditional Japanese aesthetics. First unveiled in 1962 and later lovingly reimagined in the hotel’s renewal, the space is celebrated for its geometric lantern-style lighting, serene symmetry, and understated elegance. The lobby embodies the Japanese principle of omotenashi—hospitality with quiet grace—offering guests a sense of calm sophistication from the moment they step inside.
